Most of our municipality water is generally clean but it is an energy intensive process that allows clean and safe drinking water flow into our homes. PTG (Pasteurization Technology Group) is currently transforming that model by implementing one that produces energy and is incredibly clean. This california based start-up which just reeived 1 million in funding, uses the excess heat of an on site electricity generator running on clean bio gas, to hea water to 180 degrees, which then breaks down sewage and bacteria turning it into clean drinkable water. This method is both cleaner and more efficient than current water management techniques. Currently, municipalities are strapped for cash and our energy costs continue to increase, so what better time for a clean, and cost reducing method to change the way we access our drinking water.
